Dr. Ash Darwish

Dr. Ash Darwish is a board-certified fellowship trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He completed a highly sought after MD JD program through the University of Illinois. Dr. Darwish continued his training in orthopaedics at the Ohio State residency program. There he treated many athletes with orthopaedics injuries. He then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at The Texas Back Institute in Dallas, Texas. There Dr. Darwish learned advanced techniques in minimally invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Darwish believes in comprehensive treatment plan tailored to the patient along with conservative options.

 


Ashley Michelsen, PA-C

Ashley Michelsen a board-certified physician assistant who specializes in orthopaedics with an emphasis on disorders of the spine. Ashley joined Hinsdale Orthopaedics in 2011 and is licensed to practice medicine as well as prescribe medications in the state of Illinois and Indiana under physician supervision. Ashley conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats spine injuries, orders and interprets tests, provides patient education, and prescribed medications. Ashley is an integral part of the operating team and assists Dr. Darwish in the OR for all surgeries. She also performs inpatient rounds.

Ashley received her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago with an emphasis on pre-med. Her passion for orthopaedics stems from working as a physical therapy aid while in college. Ashley received her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies, magna cum laude, at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Working together as a team, she and Dr. Darwish focus on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of degenerative and traumatic disorders of the spine. Her interests including reading, riding her bike, and travel.

 


Nadine Oostman

Nadine has been with Hinsdale Orthopaedics since 2010. She is trained in many specialties and has focused on spine for the past three years. Nadine has previously worked as a Paramedic at a fire department until she made the switch to outpatient medicine. Nadine is a fundamental part of Dr. Darwish's team working in the office answering patient's questions, scheduling surgeries, and working in the clinic. She enjoys spending time with her family and cat Scar.
